Principal’s Message

Dear Trevvett Families,

My name is Arainau Neal, and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Maude Trevvett Elementary School!  I am excited to continue my commitment to education with my 17th year in schools.  My initial appointment was in the Petersburg Public School system as a Kindergarten Teacher for three years.  I then moved to Richmond City Public Schools as a Kindergarten, 2nd & 3rd grade teacher for seven years.  Most recently, I have served in Henrico County Public Schools at Baker Elementary and Johnson Elementary as a 3rd Grade teacher, Resource Teacher and an Associate Principal.  As an administrator, my leadership philosophy is to work with faculty and families to ensure our students are prepared for success in the global community and that they are academically competitive.  I strive for a positive learning environment and work to always advocate on the students’ behalf, ensuring that they have access not only to classroom materials but also emotional support and consistent positive reinforcement.

Maude Trevvett is an award-winning, community school that has regularly been honored by the state for academic excellence.  In many instances, generations of families, students’ parents and grandparents, have attended Trevvett.  As principal, I’m excited to continue to be a proponent of the community investment in our school and our long-standing traditions that truly make Trevvett a special place!  This is why I’m thrilled to bring my son, who will be starting second grade, to Trevvett.  I know that we are an amazing school with a faculty and staff that works hard to provide students with quality instruction.  I noticed in my meetings with staff that so many faculty members bring their own children to school here, which immediately let me know that this staff believes in the school and each other.

Our mission at Trevvett Elementary is to provide quality instruction that will foster high levels of academic performance in a safe and nurturing environment.  Through the combined commitment of faculty, staff, home, and community, we will enable all students to become responsible citizens.

As principal, I look forward to partnering with our families to create a positive, safe, and meaningful learning environment for our students.  Our theme for the 2020-2021 school year is, “LEARNING HAS NO LIMITS!”  No matter what happens during this unprecedented school year, our students will continue to thrive and learn because there are no limits for our Tigers!

Proud Principal,

Mrs. Neal
