Principal’s Message

Dear students, families, and community members,

As principal of this amazing school, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! This is my sixth year working in this incredible community of caring families and supportive businesses, and I could not be more thrilled to continue to serve here! For those of you who are new to our family, welcome to a very special place where children are loved, taught, and nurtured to reach their full potential. Our school is equipped with elite educators and a hard-working staff who do their very best to provide a safe and positive academic environment for your child.  I hope that you will take advantage of our family engagement opportunities and experience our school culture this year!

Our Program...We are an indoor campus school comprised of 24 general education classrooms and 1 preschool special education classroom. We also have 2 classrooms serving students who are participating in the Gifted Zone Center.

Our Classrooms…We are committed to building relationships and learning communities that value social-emotional learning and differentiation. Our work is motivated by the Henrico Learner Profile and our lessons are well-planned and purposeful. When you visit your child’s classroom, you should see evidence of learning and displays of student questions, thinking, work, and understanding.

Our Communication…All teachers maintain a classroom blog that provides updates, pictures, and homework assignments. Teachers will update the blog each week. I will use Smore as a tool to provide a weekly newsletter. The link to my newsletter will be texted to your phone each week. You will periodically receive texts and phone message reminders if a due date is approaching or there is a special event. Additionally, I will send home a printed newsletter at the beginning of each month.

Our Parental Involvement...You are always welcome. Please sign in at the main office and print off your visitor’s badge before you enter our instructional wing. Please make an appointment with your child’s teacher if you would like to volunteer. You can contact me directly if you would like a tour of the school, or if you would like to observe in a classroom. We have a Parent Teacher Organization who initiates projects, coordinates fundraisers, plans spirit nights, and supports teachers.

Our MissionThe Trevvett Elementary community strives to educate, motivate, and inspire all students in a safe and positive academic environment to become lifelong learners and respected leaders in a global society.

Families, we are a proud community and we will continue to work together to make our learning environment upbeat and student-centered. I want every Tiger to have a “PAWsitive” experience at Trevvett, and I welcome your feedback and support in this. After all data is released and reports are finalized, I will be in touch with opportunities to review our school improvement plan, school quality profile, and 2019 climate survey results. Until then, please join me in “Roaring with PAWsitivity” as we embark on the best year yet.

Let’s Roar Together!

~Mrs. Broudy, Proud Principal
